/ St Martin de Belleville

A traditional Savoyard village
the jewel of the Three Valleys

St Martin de Belleville is a proper, lived-in and authentic alpine village. Still unspoilt and totally charming with narrow cobbled streets, an old church and traditional buildings constructed of wood and stone. St Martin de Belleville offers quick access to the 3 Valleys but is secluded and tucked away from the commercialisation of the rest of the ski area.

At an altitude of 1,450m, St Martin de Belleville guards the entrance to the Vallée de Belleville and offers skiers and snowboarders of all levels the perfect resort to learn, develop and perfect their riding, having some great beginner slopes in resort and fast connections to the rest of the superb Three Valleys ski area.

St Martin de Belleville Overview

As part of the vast 3 Valleys ski area, St Martin de Belleville offers skiers the chance to explore the worlds largest linked ski area from an authentic and unspoiled alpine village.

This old stone and wood-clad village is full of rustic charm and character, in stark contrast to neighbouring Les Menuires and Val Thorens - both purpose-built resorts with somewhat controversial architecture.

Why St Martin de Belleville?

St Martin de Belleville has a quiet location, relaxed atmosphere and a great variety of restaurants to satisfy even the most discerning of ski foodies!

The brand new eight-person gondola installed for the 2021/20 ski season whisks skiers up to mid-station 35% faster than in previous years, and the still new 6-person Express chairlift will complete the journey to the top of the mountain just a few minutes later.

The Three valleys is skiable from 1,300m up to 3,230m thanks to 156 ski lifts that will take you up the mountain quickly and easily.

The Three Valleys generous infrastructure of ski-lifts and marked pistes connects not only the large ski stations at Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Meribel-Mottaret and Courchevel with one another, but also the up-and-coming smaller and more traditional skiing locations at St Martin de Belleville, La Tania and Brides les Bains.

Skiing in St Martin de Belleville

The Three Valleys is a truly HUGE ski area, but some of the best skiing both on-piste and off-piste can be found on the doorstep of St Martin de Belleville.

Whisking you up to mid-station 35% faster than previous years is the brand-new for 2021/20 St Martin 1 gondola. From mid-station take the still new 6-person St Martin Express chairlift, and in just 15 minutes you’ll be at the top of the mountain surveying the vast extent of skiing available to you here in the Three Valleys!

Beginner Skiers

Beginners can start on the dedicated nursery slope with two magic carpets, running parallel to the main gondola out of St Martin de Belleville. Beginners can then progress onto the easy blue runs from the top of ‘Tougnete’ and start to explore the rest of the epic Three Valleys. The Grand Lac blue from the top of the "Granges" chairlift is one of the best runs in the Three Valleys in our opinion!

Intermediate Skiers

Intermediates will find endless opportunities to explore above St Martin de Belleville and on to the whole 3 Valleys. There are extensive intermediate slopes within easy access because of the fast and efficient lift network. The slopes above Les Menuires on the west-facing side have plenty to offer intermediate skiers and are mostly blue and red runs.

Expert Skiers

Expert skiers and snowboarders will be entertained with a choice of moguls, steep blacks and some of the best off-piste in the world in just about every corner of the 3 Valleys. Head to the upper slopes of La Masse to avoid the crowds and to find steeper slopes. It also has some of the best snow in the 3 Valleys. Also, why not take a guide out for the day to show you the best pistes and the deepest powder stashes...

Liberty Rides

Thanks to the various “Liberty Ride” areas created around the 3 Valleys, families, friends, experts and learner skiers can enjoy skiing in specially selected areas that are safe to ski off-piste without a guide. Liberty ride on la Masse: access via la Masse 2 gondola, Liberty ride on Ariondaz near St Martin: access via the St Martin 2 chairlift, pylons Liberty ride: access via the Sunny Express chairlift.
